This St. Patrick’s Day is a little different from the years before. Since we are all hunkering in because of the Corona Virus, there are no parades or bar hopping or fun runs. But we weren’t going to let that stop us….besides, the girls had been counting down the days and really looking forward to putting on their green so they wouldn’t get pinched by the leprechauns.

I planned on letting them do a fun little craft. They were SO excited about it. I just cut up a bunch of felt and let them make their own creations. They were really proud of their St. Patty’s Day Art and it kept them busy for a really good amount of time. You can check out more fun “At Home” Activities for Kids HERE
St. Patrick’s Day 2020 Surprise
As I was gathering craft supplies from our basement I happened to come across a random bag of balloons (and they were green!) and I thought “Hmmm…these might be fun”. We took them up to the girls room and blew them all up and had THE BEST TIME EVER! I’m tearing up now just thinking of the joy I witnessed on their faces. I’ve never heard so much giggling and seen such big smiles. We threw them in the air, we danced to music while kicking them around, we played games like “Don’t let the Balloon Touch the Floor”. I heard Evie say multiple times “This is the Best Day Ever” and my heart was so full. It’s amazing how much joy a balloon can bring….so just imagine a room full! I promised the girls they could keep them in their room for a couple of days. I figured, why not since we are practicing Social Distancing from the outside world.
Lasting Memories in Unexpected Moments
What a fantastic and extremely inexpensive way to have fun with your kids while we are stuck at home. They were jumping all around and using their imagination and we made the best memories today. In such a weird time in our lives, St. Patrick’s Day 2020 ended up being one of my favorite Mom Memories!
This spur of the moment activity brought so much joy. It made me completely forget the craziness going on outside of our home. I was the fun mom, making memories and having the best time with my kids. I’ll be remembering this day and the happiness it held for the rest of my life! It was the perfect example of adding WHIM to the everyday.
