The perfect Christmas activity for kids…decorating Gingerbread Houses. This is one of our favorite traditions and this year I decided to go all out and make it a Kids Gingerbread party! I surprised the kids one Saturday morning by setting up balloons, gingerbread houses and a full spread of candy toppings. The kids were so excited to decorate their houses in their Christmas Jammies. It was a great indoor Holiday activity that kept the kids entertained well into the afternoon.

Fun Holiday Details for Your Kids Gingerbread Party
Balloons instantly make everything more magical. I made a simple balloon garland with green, white, red and light pink balloons. I added in a few candy cane balloons as well. The kids really loved those!
I set up three gingerbread houses for each of the kids. On the table I displayed a plethora of candy toppings for their houses.
Some of our favorite items to decorate with are:
- Candycanes and Peppermints
- M&M’s
- Candy Christmas trees
- Chocolate Snowmen
- Gumdrops
- Pirouette Waffer Cookies
I decided to make a cute “Toppings Station” sign and some milk bottle labels to go with our little holiday party to add some extra WHIM. It was so fun to design these and you can download and print them at home by clicking HERE!
I love how fun, simple and ridiculously inexpensive printables like this can be. They add such a fun touch!
I couldn’t get over how long the kids spent decorating (and eating) their gingerbread houses. The girls sat for hours adding pieces to their house. They had so much fun, and Everly told me “This is the best day of my life”. That made me feel good.
