How to set up a Homework Area when you have limited space
This school year is starting off a lot different than I thought it would. Our school is doing a Hybrid learning where part of the week the girls will be in school and the other part they will be home. I shared at the end of the school year last year my Remote Learning Classroom Set Up and we plan to use that during most of our learning at home days. But I also needed an area in our main living section of the house where the girls could work on homework or a lesson plan. A place where I could do more multitasking while I helped them with their school work. The kitchen table is a hard spot for us because Duncan likes to climb on the table and get his hands into anything we are working on. I also didn’t want the kitchen counters to be cluttered with school supplies and papers. I’ve got enough junk piling up on my counters as it is. So, I decided to set up a homeschool corner for kids in a cute, little unused corner of our living room.

The Set Up for a Homeschool Corner for Kids
If you don’t have an entire room you can dedicate to learning at home, then this set up is perfect for you! All you need is a little corner.
This lovely little homeschool nook was all sparked by this amazing bistro table and chair set from Homegoods. Its an almost identical look-a-like to the Serena and Lily Kids Bistro Table and Chairs. Since I’m unable to link the Homegoods one, I will link the Serena and Lily Set at the bottom of this post. Isn’t it the cutest thing ever? It is the perfect size for my girls to both sit at and work on their school work.
I also decided to hang a cute wire file organizer on the wall nearby. Evie will get the top section and Tessa will get the bottom section. This is where we can put any school supplies they need, papers and even flashcards. I plan to put their tablets in there too. They can charge in the organizer as there is an outlet right below it.
I love this organization for their school stuff because it keeps it all off the floor and off the counters. It helps that Duncan can’t reach any of it either.
And if you’ve been following around for a while, then you know me, I had to add some Classroom WHIM. I hung a green chalkboard and an adorable garland that I made with apples and pencils and pom poms. I also put all their school pencils and writing utensils in a fun school themed pencil cup on the table.
