Have you ever heard of a babysitting swap? I hadn’t either until friends of our suggested it. So we got together with 2 other families and came up with a plan. The plan was that once a month a family would take ALL the kids so the other 2 set of parents could go on a date night. We have a total of 8 kids ranging from 2 to 9 years old. When it was our families turn to take all the kids, you know I had to make it fun and magical! It’s just the way things are done in the WHIM house. So we decided we would make pizzas, set up an outdoor movie and load them all up on lots of sugar! This would be a great Summer activity for an Outdoor Family Movie Night!

Setting Up your Movie Theatre
This outdoor movie projector was clutch! It comes with everything you need (including the screen) and was super easy to set up.
I gathered as many pillows and blankets I could find and laid them right out on the lawn. The kids really liked the glow in the dark blankets I had. Rex set up the projector and hung the screen right on the backyard fence.
As the sun went down I started gathering movie theater must have treats. Popcorn, some boxed candies and homemade chocolate chip cookies.
The kids LOVED every second of it. We picked a movie we thought all kids could enjoy. They stayed content the entire movie and there were a lot of giggle coming from under those glow in the dark blankets.
We look forward to many more outdoor movie nights this Summer.
