One of my mom’s fondest memories was waking up the morning of her First Day of School, walking into the kitchen and seeing the kitchen table decorated for her big first day! She said it turned that nervous tickle in her belly into excitement to head off to school and meet her teacher and classmates. This idea was something I wanted to recreate for my daughters. With my oldest daughter heading off to Kindergarten this year (cue alligator tears) and being gone all day, I wanted her to walk down the stairs and see the celebration we had for her. Here is how I set up the ultimate Back to School Breakfast.

How to Decorate for The First Day of School
It’s actually very easy to set the table for your little ones. We used a lot of items I had around the house and some fun Back to School things we found in the Target Dollar Section.

The center of the Table you can really get creative. This is where we used a lot of things we had around my house. My Letter Board and old books. You could use a globe or set of kid encyclopedias or a bowl full of apples or school rulers. Have fun and get creative with it! I love doing fun things like this for my kids.
